Meet the Huglist
Introducing The Huglist—a social media app where users can connect with friends and family members that they have been waiting to hug throughout the pandemic. Users can invite their friends and family to join their networks. Once their requests are accepted, they can then be added to each other’s “Huglists” and corresponding feeds. The app also provides a space for users to refresh their statuses from vaccine date updates to events they are excited for.
Our team helped build this app from the ground up—starting with branding identity and ending with high-level press coverage.
Look & feel
From color palette to logo design, our team worked around the clock to create a brightly-lit world for The Huglist to live in.
With a friendly attention-grabbing colors and accessible, contemporary typefaces, we built a strong and warm brand identity not far off from a nice, strong, hug.
Designing for the user
Working with a team of UX designers and developers, we created an easy-to-navigate user experience with just the right amount of features.
With a focus on accessibility for all and adherance to app store guidelines, our team worked with the UX team to create copy for the app that was both gripping and compliant.
Spreading the word
Our PR team secured exclusive app launch coverage with Input Magazine—a trailblazer in tech journalism.
Following the launch our team conducted outreach to various tech-minded publications, ranging from WIRED to VICE to Mic.
A social strategy that works
No app launch would be complete without a robust social strategy to accompany it. We created a slew of social assets and managed Huglist's social accounts throughout the product launch phase to ensure maximum reach.
Got hugs?
With 1.8 million recorded COVID cases nationwide to date, people have spent the last year quarantined at home, social distancing, and apart from loved ones. The vaccine, while not the end of the pandemic, provides hope and the ability to hold our loved ones again slowly and safely. The public is still advised to practice caution and mask-wearing even after receiving both doses of the vaccine—The Huglist mainly functions as a tool to practice socializing safely.
“People are searching for something to look forward to this spring, and it’s as simple as giving a good friend a big hug,” founder Emily J. Smith said. “We have all collectively been through so much this last year, and we want to finally celebrate the small wins. Those are the wins we need right now.”
