No more swiping for yourself
Chorus is a matchmaking app where friends swipe for friends, founded by women who wanted to make dating human again. The goal was to turn the app into a community, and we joined forces with Chorus in December 2020 to help make that happen.
We believe in Chorus's mission to be more than just a dating app for its users, and we knew that we could grow its user base with our team of brand experts. We helped set Chorus up for success from the inside-out; our comprehensive strategy included a branding refresh, game-changing social media management, top-level media coverage, and events that brought the Chorus community together, allowing the app to grow even during a pandemic.
Swiping right on branding
While the Chorus brand was already strong when we started, our team expanded on that branding ten-fold, building out a library of new assets, social media posts, and a media kit.
We also updated the brand's look and feel, proving a logo refresh to help Chorus feel more modern and relevant within the dating app space.
Taking social media from single note to full orchestra
We took an ever-evolving approach to our social media strategy, responding in real-time to up-to-the-minute trends in order to stay relevant and ensure the highest engagement. With a healthy mix of original content, trending sourced material, and influencer posts, NASTY/CREATIVE has helped to boost Chorus’s growth on Instagram by 5.7% and on Twitter by 14.5%.
It's a media match!
Our PR work with Chorus yielded press coverage in Mashable, Bustle, Salon, Hypebae, Thrive Global, and IdeaMensch—securing an unprecedented six press hits in just the first two months of working together.
The NASTY/CREATIVE PR team worked to strengthen Chorus's main messaging points for pitch and interview unification, as well as conducting extensive outreach to publications ranging from The New York Times to Mic to Cosmopolitan.
Media kit magic
Our team built a media kit from scratch to highlight the present and future of Chorus to members of the media. The media kit provides an inside look into Chorus and the complex world of online dating. View the full media kit here.
Love is eventful
Our team produced a series of virtual trivia events for Chorus to boost community engagement and expand beyond swiping on a screen, giving daters some much-needed opportunities to meet new people amidst a global pandemic.
Our events consisted of well-attended romcom trivia questions hosted by comedian Bobby Hankinson. Chorus provides a safe space to also create matches post-event if both parties express interest, making these events live matchmaking experiences as well.
Stay tuned for our first in-person Chorus event this spring.
Learn more about Chorus
“Chorus isn’t just a dating app; it’s a matchmaking app. Chorus started with a group of women around a dinner table. Half of us were partnered, the other half were single, and we’d all been friends for years. The single ones amongst us were complaining, as usual, about online dating: swiping takes time, messages go ignored, and we’re tired. The partnered women were complaining that they felt left out of the now ever-present world of online dating and wished they could help their single friends find matches."
